Player Code of Conduct

As a player, I agree to:

  1. Not attend or participate in any game, practice, or session under the influence of alcohol or any other substance.
  2. Participate with the understanding that sport is for fun and enjoyment.
  3. Inform my coach of any condition that may affect my safety or the safety of others.
  4. Learn and follow the rules of the game and the policies of the league.
  5. Encourage sportsmanship and provide positive support for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators.
  6. Refrain from unsportsmanlike conduct such as booing, taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using inappropriate language or gestures.
  7. Avoid any behavior that could endanger my health or the health of others.
  8. Play by the rules and resolve conflicts respectfully.
  9. Treat all participants with respect, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, or background.
  10. Value effort and improvement over winning.
  11. Always try my best and compete fairly.
  12. Refrain from ridiculing or yelling at others for making mistakes.
  13. Respect the decisions of officials and communicate with coaches respectfully and at appropriate times.
  14. Support a drug-, tobacco-, and alcohol-free sports environment.
  15. Use social media responsibly and avoid sharing harmful or disrespectful content.
  16. Be mindful of my mental and emotional health and seek support when needed.
  17. Never engage in bullying, discrimination, or harassment.

Parental Code of Conduct

As a parent or guardian, I agree to:

  1. Not force my child to participate in sports.
  2. Remember that youth sports are for children, not adults.
  3. Support my child’s participation positively and without pressure.
  4. Be a respectful role model to all participants and spectators.
  5. Avoid unsportsmanlike conduct, including yelling, taunting, or inappropriate gestures.
  6. Inform coaches of any physical or emotional condition that may affect safety.
  7. Promote a safe environment free from harmful behaviors.
  8. Prioritize my child’s mental and emotional health over winning.
  9. Teach respect for rules, officials, and conflict resolution without aggression.
  10. Praise effort and improvement, not just outcomes.
  11. Never ridicule or criticize any child for mistakes or losing.
  12. Value practice and skill development, especially in younger age groups.
  13. Support inclusivity and treat everyone with dignity regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, or background.
  14. Respect the authority of coaches and officials; raise concerns respectfully and at appropriate times.
  15. Refrain from coaching from the sidelines unless I am an official team coach.
  16. Use social media responsibly and refrain from posting negative or harmful content.

Consequences for Violations

If any player or parent fails to follow this Code of Conduct, they may face disciplinary actions, including but not limited to:

  • Verbal warning by a coach, official, or league administrator
  • Written warning
  • Suspension from games or practices
  • Forfeiture of games
  • Season-long suspension
